About the Role

We are looking for a passionate experienced Occupational Health Physician, who can confidently partner our NHS clients to provide a high-quality customer service. Credibility and relationship building is key. This can be a very rewarding role; you will need to combine your clinical knowledge with a detailed understanding of employment and anti-discrimination legislation as well as environmental and health and safety law.

Working within a team of OH Physicians the role will be based in the Bedfordshire area with some travel throughout the Bedfordshire required. You will support a range of clients and industries, including a university.

Responsibilities:

  • Fitness for work medical examinations.
  • Sickness Absence and wellbeing consultations.
  • Assessment of pre-placement suitability.
  • Ill health retirement cases.
  • Health Surveillance.
  • HAVS assessments (attendance on relevant courses can be arranged if not already accredited).
  • Carry out assessments/case management of complex and/or long-term cases referred by the OHA, ER/HR or business managers.
  • Carry out on line placement medical screening assessments
  • Assist in monitoring OH provision, supervision and quality control of OH & corporate health services and patient satisfaction.
  • Assist and advise OHM and OHA in management of their cases
  • Monitoring and recording of statistical information for reporting to HR

Skills and Experience

  • Primary Medical Degree, MBBS
  • Full registration with the UK GMC
  • Qualified in Occupational Health Medicine (Diploma or MSc essential, MFOM preferred)
  • Ideally experience of providing OH services in the corporate sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Client focused.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Full UK driving licence and car.
