Job Summary:
Colliers Capital Markets platform consists of serval teams of real estate capital markets professionals in Canada and globally and focuses on servicing the transaction advisory and capital raising needs of private and public institutional clients. We offer a complete range of capital markets investment banking services and strong expertise in mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and recapitalizations, private placements, valuations, and cross-border transactions.
As an Associate, Capital Markets | Canada, you can gain significant business development and transaction experience in the real estate sector. You will be assisting in the production of detailed investment pitch-books, offering memorandums, transaction documentation, market research, financial models, and strategic analysis. Drawing on previous experience, the ideal candidate will have a proven ability to take initiative, will possess exceptional financial proficiency, communication, and presentation skills and demonstrate academic excellence in supporting the national Capital Markets team in achieving their goals.
What you bring:
An MBA degree from a top university with strong academic achievement
3 – 5 years of investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or equivalent experience with an emphasis in complex financial modeling.
Real estate industry investment or advisory experience is an asset, but not required.
Experience with Capital IQ and other financial information providers is an asset, but not required.
Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in real estate investment banking and advisory: and concepts, practices, procedures, and the competitive landscape of the real estate industry.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with a willingness and ability to learn new applications.
Quantitative and analytical thinking with an interest in financial analysis and modeling
Bonus skills and experience:
Experience with ARGUS modelling
CFA program progress or completion is an asset.
Commercial real estate experience is an asset
What success looks like:
You will work closely with senior leaders and members of the capital markets team, and other leaders and experts from various groups in Canada and Globally.
You will conduct financial modelling, various financial and strategic analyses, discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis and evaluate other industry metrics as required.
You will lead transaction execution tasks, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, conduct research; build and maintain financial models and industry databases; and maintain groups’ databases and valuation tools.
You will lead preparation of extensive written documents including transaction documentation / proposals, pitch-books and company information documents for business development and marketing purposes.
You demonstrate a highly motivated, committed, and responsible attitude; with the ability to deliver results to the highest accuracy.
You excel in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work within deadlines and manage competing priorities in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail.
