About the role

Join the Housing Economics and Insights sector as an Analyst, Data Analytics and Reporting. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day reporting requirements that satisfy business needs including the operationalization of reports, dashboards and the development of data sets for further research. You will provide a high level of support for the development of data-driven insights to help identify trends, opportunities and provide opportunities and recommendations for improvement based on these insights.

This is a temporary position for a duration of 12 months.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform research and analysis on industry standards, changes to guidelines and regulations that impact the provision of CMHC products, programs and/or services.
  • Collaborate with and provide analytical and data support to peers, by ensuring data is structured and stored in a clear and understandable fashion.
  • Escalate potential recommendations based on report and data findings to the Manager.
  • Ensure data is accurate and valid by conducting quality checks and being attentive to detail.
  • Use appropriate analytical tools to perform data extraction and curation in support of team initiatives and business needs.
  • Maintain a centralized reporting system within the universe of corporate management and financial reports (internal and external) and scorecards.

What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, science, business administration, economics, mathematics or statistics or a related field.
  • Expertize in the standard Microsoft suite, SAS and other tools such as open source tools (R, Python) and data visualization (Power BI, Tableau).
  • A minimum of one year of related experience in data analysis.
  • Awareness of CMHC’s mandate and strong ability to understand the organization’s objectives.
  • Strong data analysis, data verification and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present complex ideas with clarity.
  • Sound analytical skills with demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize information to develop recommendations and provide advice.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Sciences such as engineering, architecture, or construction are considered an asset.
