Located in Edmonton&comma; Alberta&comma; Canada&comma; the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world&&num;8217&semi;s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada&&num;8217&semi;s premier healtheducation institutions&period; The University is currently home to more than 38&comma;000 students with more than 15&comma;000 faculty and staff&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> The Division of Neurology consists of 60 neurologists in academic and community practice and 3 Scientists&period; UA is one of the largest stroke programs in Canada&period; Internationally recognized research is conducted and published from UA&period; All sub-specialties of neurology are represented among the faculty in addition to stroke including&colon; Autoimmune and Multiple Sclerosis&comma; Cognitive Neurology&comma; Epilepsy&comma; Movement Disorders&comma; Neuromuscular and ALS&comma; Autonomic Neurophysiology&comma; Headache Clinic&period; We have 5 research chairs among our Division&period; Neurology holds multiple CIHR&comma; NIH&comma; PCORI and other prestigious external grants&period; Our Neurology residency program is strong and accepts 5-6 residents&sol;year&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Stroke has an active&comma; successful fellowship program with 7 fellows&period; Other sub-specialties have fellowship programs as well resulting in a rich training environment&period; Call is equitably shared throughout the division and is typically 4-8 weeks&sol;year&period; The Successful candidate will be an MD &lpar;or equivalent&rpar; with relevant clinical qualifications in Neurology recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent certification body&period; Candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta &lpar;CPSA&rpar; as clinical service is required as part of this appointment and have completed an epilepsy fellowship&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Individuals interested in the education of trainees and a strong interest in research are encouraged to apply&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Key accountabilities of the Epilepsy Neurologist will include&comma; but will not be limited to refractory epilepsy management&comma; epilepsy monitoring unit experience&comma; ICU EEG program development and sustainability&comma; epilepsy syndrome diagnosis and management&period; Previous success in obtaining external peer-reviewed grant support and successful publication record are required&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment in the Department of Medicine&comma;
