Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal delivered a cutting message after his side’s 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, declaring, “They simply can’t beat us.”

Barcelona edged a chaotic contest at La Cartuja, with Pedri opening the scoring before Real Madrid responded through Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Ferran Torres equalised late to force extra time, where Jules Kounde struck the decisive goal in the 116th minute.

Following the match, Real Madrid’s frustrations boiled over. Antonio Rudiger, Jude Bellingham and Lucas Vazquez were all sent off after the final whistle for dissent and unsporting conduct.

Yamal, who has scored against Madrid in each of their previous meetings this season, did not miss the chance to highlight Barcelona’s dominance.

“This year, they simply can’t beat us. We’ve proven that,” Yamal said post-match. “I’m really happy. Visca Barca!”

Barcelona have now beaten Real Madrid three times this season, including a 4-0 league win at the Bernabeu and a 5-2 Supercopa de Espana final triumph.

The two sides will meet again on May 11 in La Liga, with Barcelona currently holding a four-point advantage at the top.

While Madrid shift focus back to the league, Barcelona’s attention turns to Europe.

Hansi Flick’s side face Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final first leg next week, as they continue their pursuit of a historic treble.
