WAEC candidates, including some students from Unity Modern School in Asaba, Delta State, have voiced their frustration after being made to write their exam at night using torchlights.
This disturbing event was revealed in a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, a woman was heard lamenting the situation. She said the exam was supposed to start at 2 p.m., but the exam papers only arrived at 6 p.m., forcing the students to write in the dark.
She said: “We’re using torchlight to write WAEC oo, it’s not okay. Paper that’s supposed to start by 2, they brought it by 6. No light in Unity Modern School Asaba, a state capital, not a village o.”
She added: “After they will say Tinubu is bad, this is wickedness—writing exam by night.”
The woman confirmed the name of the school and explained that the students were still writing the exam despite the poor conditions caused by the delay.
As the post circulated online, many Nigerians expressed shock and outrage in the comment section over what happened.
