THE ROLE:

Athletic Greens is looking for an entrepreneurial, innovative and customer-centric VP, Acquisition (USA) leader dedicated to scaling paid acquisition efforts. The VP Acquisition is a growth hacker at heart who has had repeatable experience in scaling budgets and high-performing growth teams across a number of channels including digital platforms and media channels. This role will lead the execution teams as well as the creative production arm supporting growth efforts.

Reporting into the SVP Growth, this leader will develop a high performing paid acquisition team. While there is a team in place, the successful candidate will have a proven history as a player/coach.

The successful candidate will possess a vast knowledge of the growth landscape, experimentation, digital marketing funnels, and performance marketing and growth creative strategy. They will also be passionate about growth strategies, industry trends and have a strong and unique blend of technical, analytical, creative and strategic skills that has the ability to build, mentor and motivate a growth team to drive innovative growth initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead and develop a team of high performing growth marketers across digital acquisition, full funnel media and the creative support for these functions.
  • Execute and lead implementation of growth strategy by using paid media channels to grow new user acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention in a scalable and efficient way
  • Partner with Brand to identify customer centric campaign and messaging concepts, driving integrated execution across the funnel.
  • Compile and proactively share business and creative insights with CLT, Marketing and Brand.
  • Lead the continued evolution of creative development, ensuring a test and learn culture within the Growth Creative function.
  • Lead the evolution of marketing investment guardrails and measurement, ensuring fiscally responsible business decisions are consistently followed across the team.
  • Lead rapid experimentation of new paid channels, campaigns, creative, incentives, sales funnels on the website and approaches for the purpose of acquiring high LTV customers at the appropriate LTV-to-CAC ratios
  • Responsible for the reporting on key metrics and delivering ROI of the program across a number of stages in the funnel and website – awareness, consideration, acquisition and site analytics
  • Oversee media buying efforts across both brand and performance campaigns and identify efficiencies between the two
  • Responsible for measuring inputs, optimizing dashboards and mine data to drive weekly business reviews, insights and move business lag metrics.
  • Develop and manage the annual plan and budget and, in collaboration with Growth Finance, adjust plans monthly based upon realized return on investment. Ensure that the team is aligned on budget expectations and requirements.
  • Manage relationships with performance creative or media agencies, ensuring all contract requests (new or renewal) are appropriately budgeted for and that outputs are in-line with brand standards.
  • Recruit and lead a team of skilled growth hackers drive marketing strategy, campaign ideation, execution, and analysis, continually raising the bar on technical and analytical skills.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization including product, engineering, customer and brand marketing.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 12+ years of performance or acquisition marketing experience
  • 5+ years in leadership / management experience
  • Customer-centric who is leading with a value-based approach to drive creative output
  • Successfully built and scaled growth strategies for hyper-growth brands with little brand awareness preferred
  • Successfully scaled full funnel media budgets across a number of platform channels including Video, Meta, Paid Search etc.
  • Strong cross-channel media budget management
  • Strong marketing instincts and an intuitive creative mind who has an eye for create copy and visual creative
  • Experience leading creative production teams
  • Experience leveraging advanced marketing attribution including Media Mix Modelling, Geo Holds etc. to measure marketing.
  • Completely obsessed over growth hacking, funnels, a/b testing, mining data and optimizing marketing metrics
  • Highly entrepreneurial, highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about health and wellness space
  • Customer-centric who is leading with a value-based approach to drive creative output
  • Deep analytics background and a high degree of proficiency with rigorous data tools with a quick ability to generate insight and next action steps
  • Strong first principles and critical thinker that challenges the status quo of the marketing industry

  • Strong leadership presence; serves as a senior leader within a company, influential with a diverse group of stakeholders and can create buy-in with both technical and operational teams organization

AG is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $215,000 – $254,000 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage. Base salary is only one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles. However, the total comp package for each new hire is based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role.
