Job Description

The New Store Opening Visual Merchandiser will work directly with the VM NSO Manager and alongside the Field Visual Managers and Director to help oversee the execution of all Visual Merchandising duties within new store openings. In addition, they will travel to existing stores on downtime for field support while assisting in other clerical tasks in the department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

New Store Opening Duties

  • Routinely travel to new store openings or existing stores throughout North America. Averaging 50%-70% of required travel.
  • Implement and maintain all visual merchandising guidelines, including window installs, proper set-up and use of all fixtures, selling tools, floor-sets, mannequin presentations and overall layout of merchandise within the store.
  • Work closely with the Visual Manager and NSO team to implement a successful and aesthetically impactful store opening.
  • Maintain a personal work schedule to ensure timely execution with store opening duties.
  • Assist with maintaining VM storage and inventory for new store opening supplies and store finishes.
  • Assist in training new store teams on store processes, merchandise placement, and standards.
  • Ensure installation of all graphic collateral as directed.
  • Communicate with the retail marketing team on missing or damaged collateral when setting up new stores.
  • Assist with proper lighting execution within new store openings.
  • Execute the planting of live greens instore.
  • Support and take part in VM training sessions to install VM standards for the new store manager and their team.
  • Organize and manage packing and shipping of VM collateral to offsite locations as needed from NSO.

Clerical Duties

  • Collaborate with the Field VM Mangers on creating store specific planograms when needed.
  • Keep weekly updates for all NSO inventory documents in conjunction with the NSO Visual Manager.
  • Assist as needed with retail store purchases and managing deliveries for new stores.
  • Assist with sourcing VM collateral for NSO.
  • Assist and upkeep of department documents and VM guides.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience as a Visual Merchandiser in a multi-door format and/or New Store Opening experience.
  • Must provide in any format a portfolio displaying one’s creative work in the field.
  • Must be able to implement VM direction and aesthetic while making adjustments based off constructive feedback.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator
  • Must maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude within a high energy environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on department needs and consistently evolving NSO schedule.
  • Must have a good eye for fashion trends, color stories, and mannequin styling.
  • Must be able to independently problem solve in a timely matter.
  • Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team while handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must have strong grammar, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent prioritization, organization and time-management skills.
  • Must have knowledge of store window execution and vinyl install.
  • Must have ability to use basic hardware and tools for visual maintenance as needed.

Additional Information

Pay Range: From $65,000 – $70,000
