<p><b>About the role</b></p>
<p> Join one of the National Co-Investment Fund teams or the Rental Construction financing team in the Housing Program division, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. As a Underwriter, Multi-Unit, your financial analysis skills, and your passion for building strong client relationships will support the achievement of our government program objectives.</p>
<p> This is a temporary position of a duration of 24 months.</p>
<p><b>What you&#8217;ll do:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Apply sound judgement and decision-making practices based on complex financial analysis while making recommendations.</li>
<li>Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities.</li>
<li>Review, prioritize and approve loan, subsidy and contribution applications while assessing financial viability.</li>
<li>Manage risk by exercising prudence and due diligence while reviewing, assessing and approving applications.</li>
<li>Work in partnership with clients, stakeholders, and various levels of government by offering advice, support and alternative solutions.</li>
<li>Communicate decisions, interpreting policies and responding to inquiries related to CMHC&#8217;s housing programs.</li>
<li>Provide input to shape functional policies, products, and processes.</li>
<li>Prepare briefing notes, submissions, issue papers, dockets, and responses to Ministerial and Presidential correspondence related to the delivery of CMHC&#8217;s Housing programs.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>What you should have:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>A Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce and five (5). years&#8217; experience in construction financing, real estate, financial markets or credit risk analysis.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience working with financial viability and loan approvals.</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience reviewing, evaluating and prioritizing loans, subsidies and/or contribution applications.</li>
<li>The ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.</li>
<li>The ability to manage files and issues (sensitive in nature) using critical thinking and judgement.</li>
<li>The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.</li>
</ul>
