The role requires a self-motivated, energetic individual who has extensive media experience and is used to operating within a fast-paced news environment. This is an opportunity to work for a famous brand and drive reputation by amplifying positive actions.
Your role: Are you a talented writer/interviewer and passionate about TV? Do you know your Beales from your Barlows? Are you up to date with the biggest TV and streaming series? The team behind the country’s top telly guide, TV Mag, and newspaper supplement TV Soap is looking for a writer to join us, starting in January 2024.
Day to day you will:
- Interview a huge range of TV talent
Write engaging and original features
Direct our readers to the best TV of the week with humorous and knowledgeable previews
Contribute to our vital soap pages in TV Mag and TV Soap
Check schedules from TV channels and staying in touch with PRs to find out when all the big shows start
Attend launches, screenings and visits to the sets of TV shows in production, during working hours and evenings/weekends when required
Come up with fresh ideas to ensure we stay ahead of our rivals
Mindful of IPSO and legal requirements while working speedily and accurately to deadline
What we’re looking for from you:
- Previous experience on a national consumer magazine or supplement. Experience on a TV magazine and knowledge of listings is preferred.
Accurate, fast writing and basic editing skills
Passion for TV and soaps
The ability to work in our London office when needed
A willingness to embrace on-going digital challenges
