<p><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/south-africa" rel="noopener"><strong>South Africa</strong></a> secured their spot in the <strong>Africa Cup of Nations</strong> (AFCON) Group E, after a goalless draw with <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=tunisia" rel="noopener"><strong>Tunisia</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Although the Bafana Bafana side started slow in the tournament, they succeeded in advancing in the knockout stage, edging past Namibia who finished 3rd with the same point.</p>
<p>Tunisia on the other hand, had the worse outing in the group.</p>
<p>They recorded no win, picking only two points in three games, drawing against Mali in their second group stage match, after losing the first against Namibia.</p>

<p>South Africa have now joined group leaders Mali, who also played out a goalless draw against Namibia in the Wednesday evening clash, while Namibia’s hopes hang in the balance.</p>
<p>The AFCON round of 16 will begin on Saturday, as Nigeria’s Super Eagles prepare to face the indomitable Lions of Cameroon by 9:00 PM.</p>
