<p>U.S. <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/President-Donald-Trump"><strong>President Donald Trump</strong></a> announced on Tuesday a new initiative to introduce a high-value residency <strong>permit</strong>, dubbed the “<strong>gold</strong> <strong>card</strong>,” priced at $5 million per applicant.</p>
<p>The initiative aims to attract wealthy individuals willing to invest in the U.S. economy while also contributing to the reduction of the national deficit.</p>
<p>Speaking at the Oval Office, Trump described the gold card as a premium alternative to the traditional green card, emphasizing its potential to bring in job creators.</p>
<p><em>“This will be a pathway for people with significant financial resources who want to work, invest, and build businesses in the United States,</em>” he stated.</p>
<p>Trump suggested that sales of the gold card could commence within the next two weeks, estimating that as many as one million permits could be issued.</p>
<p>He assured that all applicants would undergo rigorous screening to ensure compliance with legal and security requirements.</p>
<p>When asked whether Russian oligarchs, some of whom have been sanctioned following Moscow’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine, would be eligible for the program, Trump did not dismiss the possibility. “<em>I know some Russian oligarchs who are good people</em>. <em>They’re not as wealthy as they once were, but I think they could afford the $5 million,” </em>he added.</p>
