Controversial TikTok personality, Arifa, has publicly apologised to Oba Saheed Elegushi following allegations linking the monarch to the tragic death of late singer Mohbad and claiming he fathered the singer’s child.
These claims, which went viral during the intense public clamour for justice for Mohbad, had accused the respected Lagos monarch of having an affair with Wunmi Aloba, the late singer’s wife, and insinuated that he may have played a role in the paternity controversy surrounding Mohbad’s son, Liam Light.
In one of his widely circulated videos at the time, Arifa went as far as attacking the Oba’s person, saying:
“Why don’t you think about the day you will die? King, you will die one day. Are you unfortunate? Are you not even scared?”
However, in a dramatic turn of events, a new video trending on social media shows Arifa prostrating and pleading with the traditional ruler, asking for forgiveness.
With visible remorse, Arifa stated:
“Kabiesi, please forgive me, don’t judge me by my actions. I am sincerely sorry, and I apologise for every misunderstanding and unverified information. Whatever fight I fought in the dark, I am sincerely sorry.”
Notably, the Elegushi Kingdom debunked the allegations at the time of the claims, but Arifa and others persisted in defaming the king and his name.
