Collins Aerospace MRO facility in Foley, AL is looking for a Technical Librarian / Records Management Specialist to join our Quality Team. In addition to being responsible for administration of the library you will serve as the Primary DER for the Drug and Alcohol Program. Both will require knowledge of and ensuring site compliance with applicable Federal regulations as well as to established site policy and procedures. You will interface with all levels of the company as well as with outside regulatory agencies, vendors, and customers in this highly detail-oriented role.

This position will be working onsite in Foley, AL.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensures Regulatory and Compliance requirements are met regarding Technical Data, Records management, and Drug & Alcohol Program.
  • Acquires, organizes, and preserves technical data while ensuring quality standards and corporate policies are met.
  • Supports and maintains an extensive network of technical information resources from various sources like government agencies, manufacturers, airlines, sister companies, and internal engineers
  • Functions as an admin for multiple external technical data portals assuring confidentiality and security; often involves troubleshooting of various computer applications
  • Maintains multiple databases
  • Performs periodic reconciliations of digital security accesses and database listings
  • Prepares hardcopy files for further processing by 3rd party including database entry, tracking, and reporting activities
  • Ensures the data integrity of various forms of media by monitoring, marking, & classifying
  • Data entry, indexing, file conversions
  • Monitors technical library subscriptions and takes actions as needed to ensure currency.
  • Liaise with Team leaders and QCs to ensure the necessary technical data is readily available and controlled.
  • Serves as Primary DER for the site’s Drug & Alcohol Program (responsible for Randoms process, ordering materials/tests, and tracking training, back-up Primary for Primary’s responsibilities)
  • Makes recommendations to management to ensure and improve compliance.
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/Experience Needed

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Knowledge and experience in spreadsheets and/or data visualization
  • Experience in Microsoft office
  • Knowledge and experience with Technical Data control for a Repair Station
  • Working knowledge of technical publication practices, policies, and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quality experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment
  • DOT/FAA DER experience
  • Familiar with Kofax application
  • Knowledge of SharePoint administration is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of 9110 QMS
  • Familiar with Title 14 of CFR 145 and 43
  • Working knowledge of Title 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40
  • Familiar with FAA Dynamic Regulatory System site navigation.
  • Familiar with U.S. Code Title 49 Subtitles I and VII
  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of working with purchase orders or purchase requisitions
  • Ability to read and understanding of contracts
