Emotions ran high in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as veteran gospel filmmaker and actor Moses Are, popularly known as Baba Gbenro, was laid to rest.

The 65-year-old, who passed away in November 2024 after battling liver disease, received a touching farewell from loved ones, colleagues, and admirers.

Christian video podcast Zion Kulture shared photos from the ceremony on X (formerly Twitter), capturing the raw emotions of family, friends, and well-wishers as they paid their final respects.

One of the images showed Baba Gbenro’s casket, adorned with gold trimmings and floral designs, as grievers gathered for a tearful goodbye.

His impact on gospel filmmaking was evident, with many key figures from the Christian film industry present to celebrate his life and contributions.

As the founder and international president of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, Baba Gbenro dedicated his life to spreading Christian messages through film. His works touched countless lives, making him a revered figure in the gospel movie industry.
