Your Opportunity

The Talent Acquisition team is searching for an ambitious early career recruiter to join their everyday mission to discover, assess, hire, and develop great talent. As part of the University Relations Recruitment team, you would be responsible for delivering an exceptional recruitment experience for candidates from first-touch to post-internship and beyond. In this role, you would be building positive relationships with students, hiring managers, faculty, staff, and student organizations to attract talent through innovative approaches to recruiting.

Salary Range

$54,000 – $79,750

Core Responsibilities

College Recruiting

  • Own the end-to-end seasonal campus hiring campaign, from defining and executing the national recruiting strategy to prospecting, sponsorships, on-campus events, interview days, and the overall recruiting pipeline.
  • Execute the University Relations Employer Branding programs including marketing materials, job fairs, networking events, and partnerships with colleges/universities.
  • Guide and support hiring managers during the selection process.
  • Participate in key University Relations events and coordinate/support the participation.
  • Assists in the oversight and Maintenance of affirmative action data to ensure compliance in all recruitment, promotions, and transfer processes.

Early Career Program Management

  • Support the early career talent programs including the Career Foundation Program, internships and other early-career positions by identifying the needs, developing proactive sourcing (build a pipeline), recruitment of diverse external candidates, interviewing, supporting onboarding, orientation, check-ins, performance evaluations, and overall program success.
  • Responsible for Smithfield’s Career Foundation Program & Internship success and continued growth.
  • Fully responsible for the hiring process and manages the coordination of rotational assignments, training opportunities and successful program outcome.
  • Provides career counseling, planning, and advising to trainees and interns.
  • Support workforce planning in connection with business leaders and the HRBP through the evaluation of pipelining student candidates and organizational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and employment regulations and policies, required.
  • Knowledge and past use of a server-based applicant tracking system, preferred.
  • Fundamental interviewing skills experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships both within and outside the organization.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Efficient with their time and resources.
  • Must possess a high level of professionalism, discretion and ability to self-manage his/her time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Travel up to 70%. Overnight travel required.
