<p> Casual Service Support Worker &#8211; Emergency Department x 3 Posts<br />
 Location: Wrexham Maelor Emergency Department (A&;E).<br />
 Contract type: Casual to provide cover for sickness, annual leave and vacancies<br />
 Hours per week: Various. Service runs 7 days a week between 10am and 8pm<br />
 Salary: £10.90 per hour</p>
<p> Driving Requirement: Full UK Manual Driving Licence Required</p>

<p> We are looking for a caring and resilient person, who can think on their feet in a pressured environment to join our Health and Local Crisis Response Team as a Casual Service Support Worker within Wrexham and surrounding area.</p>
<p> Based in fast paced, busy and intense Emergency Department, you will provide practical and emotional support to patients. You will undertake non-medical tasks to free up the medical staff to be able to focus on their clinical role and make visitors&#8217; stay as comfortable as possible.</p>
<p> A day in the life of a Casual Service Support Worker will involve: </p>
<ul>
<li>Escorting patients to assigned departments</li>
<li>Collecting prescriptions to speed up their discharge</li>
<li>Providing emotional support/pastoral care while they await treatment</li>
<li>Providing emotional support to close friends and families</li>
<li>Ensuring patients have food/drink while waiting for long hours and assisting with food distribution at meal times</li>
<li>Driving patients home when discharged and making sure they are safely settled at home</li>
<li>Signposting and referring patients to other sources of support in the community</li>
</ul>
<p> Please note that this service runs 7 days a week, from Monday to Sunday 10am to 8pm (including bank holidays) and successful candidate will be expected to commit to up to 10-hour shifts (flexible days).</p>
<p> To be a successful Casual Service Support Worker, you&#8217;ll need: </p>
<ul>
<li>To know how to improve service quality for the benefit of users, dealing with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner.</li>
<li>A good knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care.</li>
<li>Education to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience).</li>
<li>To be IT literate.</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence allowing you to drive a manual transmission vehicle.</li>
</ul>
