Job description: Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Worker in Bedfordshire to assist individuals struggling with various forms of substance and alcohol abuse. This position involves providing support through counseling, therapy, and treatment planning. As a Substance Abuse Worker, you will help clients adopt healthier behaviours and also support them in their road to recovery.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals suffering from substance abuse issues.

2. Develop and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.

3. Offer person-centered counseling and crisis intervention as needed.

4. Organize and facilitate group therapy sessions.

5. Refer clients to additional support services, such as medical professionals or community resources.

6. Assist with detoxification and withdrawal processes when needed.

7. Continually evaluate clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

8. Provide educational sessions and materials to clients about substance abuse and its consequences.

9. Establish supportive, professional relationships with clients and their family members.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Must have a diploma or degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.

2. Preference will be given to candidates who have professional certification in addiction counseling or related field.

3. At least two years of experience managing substance abuse cases is preferred.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Sound knowledge of substance abuse counseling techniques and best practices.

6. Must have empathy, patience, and resilience to work with challenging clientele.

7. Commitment to abide by all data privacy and confidentiality regulations.
