Nollywood Actor, Femi Branch, has warned cinemas to stop the habit of promoting one movie above the other.

He disclosed that he noticed the trend when he went to the cinema for a meet and greet for Toyin Abraham’s recently released movie, ‘Alakada Bad and Bougie’.

Expressing his frustrations at the trend, the veteran actor stated that it has gotten to the point that some cinema staff wear the T-shirt of one film, remove the media cards of some films from their counters, replacing them with others.

He also stated that in some cinemas, the staff lobby people into watching certain movies, assuring them that it is better than thee intended choice, and many others.

Branch maintained that cinemas have no business telling people what to watch.

He warned the cinemas doing this to desist, stating that it causes a division in the industry.

He further appealed for an even playing field for producers.

Recall that Actress and Producer, Toyin Abraham, hinted on some of the issues faced by film owners in cinemas.

While appreciating her fans who have watched Alakada in cinemas, Toyin hinted that one of the issues faced is fans asking for gifts before watching her movie. Apparently, some producers dole out gifts to their fans who come wo watch their movies and this results in a large influx of people as opposed to those who don’t gift their fans.
