Summary

Spire is seeking a Permit Specialist. This position will be responsible for processing of excavation permit applications and secured permits thru Maximo and Oracle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings for municipal excavation permits for installation and maintenance of services and mains for Spire Mo East & Spire Mo West
  • Secure municipal traffic control permits
  • Secure municipal street plate permits
  • Assist in the administration of capital work orders
  • Process for payment municipality invoices for permits
  • Send, receive & file correspondence for municipalities
  • Handle municipality inquires or complaints
  • Manage St. Louis City Water Department permits
  • Manage St. Louis City Board of Public Service Permits
  • Meet with Operations personnel to clear up permit questions on gas route
  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

N/A

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • One year of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and Access preferred
  • Knowledge of Maximo, iMap & Oracle systems preferred
  • General computer knowledge and basic computer skills required
  • One year of construction knowledge as it applies to the Company’s gas distribution system preferred
  • One year of experience reading construction drawings preferred

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Normal Work Environment – Work is normally performed in quiet conditions.
  • Typically, anywhere from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. – 4:15 to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Overtime is limited. No travel required
