The German Football Association (DFB) has announced its national team squads for the first FIFA window of 2025, with seven Nigerian-eligible players earning call-ups across different age groups.
Headlining the list is record-breaking SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, who has been named in the Germany U21 squad for upcoming friendlies against Slovakia (March 21) and Spain (March 25).
Last weekend, Atubolu set a new Freiburg record by going 510 minutes without conceding a goal, surpassing club legend Richard Golz’s mark from the 2001-2002 season.
Atubolu is joined in the U21 squad by Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins, who has already earned two caps at this level.
In the U19 squad, Winners Osawe (FC Nuremberg) and David Odogu (Wolfsburg) have been selected for the second round of European Championship qualification, where Germany will face Slovenia (March 19), Finland (March 22), and Ireland (March 25).
Meanwhile, Wesley Adeh (Werder Bremen) and Francis Onyeka (Bayer Leverkusen) will participate in Germany U18’s training camp in Spain from March 16-24, with Elijah Oguguo (Freiburg) listed as a standby option.
At U16 level, FC Cologne left-back Brian Adoga has been called up for international matches against Italy on March 21 and 24 in Florence, while Borussia Dortmund’s Desmond Ogochuku Ndlovu is on standby.
