<p><b>Job description</b>: <b>Position Purpose</b></p>
<p> The Senior Plant Maintenance Worker performs difficult and complex tasks and oversees large crews performing maintenance operations and installation, repair, and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant facilities.</p>
<p><b>Essential Functions</b></p>
<p> 1 Provides skilled maintenance tasks for the repair and overall care of the wastewater treatment plant and pumping stations for the Dallas Water Utility; oversees lower level employees and ensures that all maintenance is completed in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to safety compliance standards and department protocols and procedures.</p>
<p> 2 Organizes, prepares, and issues daily work assignments for crew members and ensures all work procedures are followed safely and work is completed daily to respond to maintenance requests; monitors maintenance operations to ensure quality and effectiveness.</p>
<p> 3 Drives around the City evaluating and checking wastewater plant maintenance work being performed; provides senior level expertise to solve problems and address issues and challenging plant maintenance situations.</p>
<p> 4 Inspects, reviews, and evaluates plant facility equipment, empties trash, and fixes doors; makes adjustments and performs repairs on water treatment machinery, chemical levels, computerized pumping stations, and other related equipment to ensure a constant water supply, quality of water, and effectively treated effluent.</p>
<p> 5 Gathers, compiles, prepares, and drafts daily paperwork; produces various reports on water and wastewater systems, daily maintenance activity and individual work orders or requests.</p>
<p> 6 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.</p>
<p><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<p><b>EDUCATION:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience</li>
</ul>
<p> EXPERIENCE: </p>
<ul>
<li>One (1) year of general mechanical experience in any of the following areas:</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Utility Construction/Maintenance</li>
<li>Meter Repair/Reading</li>
<li>Building/Ground Maintenance</li>
</ul>
<p> LICENSE: </p>
<ul>
<li>Valid driver&#8217;s license with good driving record.</li>
</ul>
<p> OTHER REQUIREMENTS: </p>
<ul>
<li>Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and/ or overtime.</li>
<li>Subject to twenty-four seven (24/7) emergency call out.</li>
<li>Subject to working in inclement weather conditions.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Supplemental Information</b></p>
<p> 1 Knowledge of Water and Wastewater systems and general equipment and meters.<br />
 2 Knowledge, use, and care of hand and power tools.<br />
 3 Knowledge of water and wastewater mains and facilities.<br />
 4 Ability to read and work with building blueprints and electrical schematics.<br />
 5 Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions and read charts and maintain written records.<br />
 6 Ability to train and instruct other workers.<br />
 7 Ability to perform math calculations.<br />
 8 Ability to perform a variety of manual labor for extended periods.<br />
 9 Ability to lift and work with heavy equipment.<br />
 10 Ability to maintain record keeping or work log system.<br />
 11 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing<br />
 12 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.</p>
<p> The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.</p>
<p> For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.</p>
<p> Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.<br />
<br /><b>Expected salary</b>: $41336.79 &#8211; 48542.38 per year<br />
