We’ve got an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Governance Officer to join us at Clarion. You’ll work closely with your Governance Manager to provide an effective and efficient company secretarial function for Clarion Housing Group and its operating companies and in particular, our subsidiary boards and committees. The role will also support the Governance Team in ensuring Clarion fulfils its legal and regulatory obligations and maintains the highest standards of probity.
As part of the role, you’ll work on various boards, committees and other stakeholder meetings as required to ensure meetings are properly convened and run with the relevant constitution. You will be responsible for preparing and distributing board packs, taking minutes and liaising with colleagues from across the business to ensure timely submission of board and committee reports. Further responsibilities may include:
Assisting with filing confirmation statements and accounts.
Advising on probity matters and delivering training where necessary.
Responsible for statutory files including minutes, board papers, certificates and various returns.
Assist with the compilation of any reports, evidence gathering and/or certification required by boards and committees.
Deputise for the Governance Team Leader when required.
This is a vital role within our Governance team, and as such we’re looking for someone with the below skillset:
Strong understanding of corporate governance and how it applies to large, complex organisations.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with people at all levels, including the most senior staff in an organisation and as a team.
Demonstrate experience of writing reports, minute taking, policies and procedures
Proactive approach and ability to prioritise time and workloads.
Able to use initiative, identify issues and create solutions, responding appropriately.
Strong understanding of confidentiality and able to deal with sensitive information appropriately.
Able to travel for necessary boards and committees held at external locations if and when they are required.
Customer focused; proven experience in providing an excellent customer service.
