Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to children with SEN to help them achieve their full potential. You will be expected to:
- Work alongside the class teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Build strong relationships with students to help them thrive and achieve their goals
- Use a range of creative and engaging teaching methods to support children’s learning
- Prepare and maintain classroom resources for SEN students
- Monitor and assess students’ progress and report back to the class teacher and SENCO
Requirements:
- Have experience working with children with SEN, preferably but not essential within a primary school setting
- Possess strong communication and organisational skills
- Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to teaching
- Work well in a team and be willing to take on additional responsibilities
- Have a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or ready to apply for one through GSL Education
