Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State hosted a young creative, Eunice Imisioluwa Irinsanmi, on Friday, who went viral for her extraordinary crocheting skills.
Eunice gained public attention after completing a specialised crocheted jacket featuring the governor’s official portrait.
The visit, which took place at the Lagos House in Marina, also included members of Eunice’s family, including her mother, manager, and siblings. A video of the warm reception was shared on X by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril A. Gawat.
According to Gawat, Eunice dedicated 168 hours and used an estimated 20,000 stitches to craft the one-of-a-kind jacket. The intricate work, which has drawn praise on social media, highlights Eunice’s remarkable attention to detail and dedication to her craft.

Taking to his Instagram page to share a photo of him receiving the portrait, the governor applauded the young talent for the handmade craft.
“Today, I received a thoughtful, handmade, custom crocheted jacket from 23 year old Irinsanmi Imisioluwa Eunice.
It took her 168 hours, over 20,000 stitches, and six colours of yarn using just one crochet hook to bring it to life. But it’s her story that truly stayed with me.
Eunice learned to crochet back in primary school. At one point, she dreamed of becoming a doctor, but life took her in another direction. She studied Home Economics, and during COVID lockdown, she leaned deeply into her love for crafting.
I want every young creative in Lagos to know that your work matters. Your hands, your skills, your ideas, and your dreams are all part of what makes this state thrive.
Thank you, Eunice. I appreciate this gift, and I’ll wear it with pride,” he noted.
