Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League Player of the Season for 2024/25, capping a sensational year in which Liverpool claimed the Premier League title with four games to spare under new boss Arne Slot.
The Egyptian forward delivered 28 goals and 18 assists, directly contributing to 46 goals, more than any player in a 38-game Premier League season.
Only Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, in a 42-game era, have recorded more (47).
At 32, Salah becomes only the fifth player in Premier League history to win the Player of the Season award twice, joining an elite group featuring Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidić and Kevin De Bruyne. He first earned the honour in 2017/18.
Salah is also on the verge of clinching another Golden Boot and currently leads Newcastle’s Alexander Isak by five goals ahead of Sunday’s final fixture against Crystal Palace.
With six more assists than any other player, the Liverpool talisman could become the first in league history to win the Player of the Season, Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season awards in a single campaign.
Earlier this month, he claimed the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award for a record-equalling third time, further cementing his legacy in English football.
