<p><b>Job description</b>: Full-time, fixed term (25 months, possible extension to 28 months)</p>
<p> Leeds Beckett University have a fantastic opportunity to work on this exciting collaboration with Borehole Solutions Ltd on a 25 month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). The role will be at the centre of a project providing the first large-scale validated data and insight into sonic drilling in the UK. The project and role are vital in fulfilling Borehole Solutions strategic aim to drive the adoption of sonic drilling across the UK and to position themselves as a market leader in the provision of this service.</p>
<p> Borehole Solutions Ltd is a well-established business based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. As site investigation specialists, Borehole Solutions offer ground investigation, geotechnical and environmental services to architects, builders, structural and consultant engineers, local authorities and private industry. They are a leading provider of geotechnical drilling solutions across the UK with over 20 years&#8217; experience. The role will provide the post-holder with wide-ranging and senior level experience and an opportunity to lead a project across a range of business functions including testing, data analysis and commercialisation.</p>

<p> We need an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with strong data analysis skills. Excellent IT literacy, with the ability to work with, and analyse large data sets, is required. You will also be expected to disseminate your findings in learned journals as well as at trade fairs. The associate will be challenged to understand the business environment at Borehole Solutions, the client and contractor networks, bringing not only technical engineering expertise, but project management capabilities in order to manage a multi-faceted project. They will be required to coordinate multiple strands of complementary activity facilitated by different experts within the university.</p>
<p> If you have some professional work experience in a site investigation or laboratory testing environment this would be an advantage.</p>
<p> Preference will be given to a candidate with professional work experience or who has taken part in postgraduate studies e.g., MSc or MEng but is now looking to broaden their experience and apply their skills and knowledge across a broad spectrum. Also, having a first degree (BSc or BEng) within a subject discipline such as civil engineering or geology is a requirement. Strong inter-personal skills are required for the role and prior work experience will be a definite advantage.</p>
