<p>The Spanish giants were trailing 3-2 with minutes to spare before full time, then came the screamer from Dani Carvajal, leveling the score for extra time.</p>
<p>Atletico drew first drew their sword with Mario Hermoso’s opener, but Real Madrid quickly turned the table with goals from Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy, leading 2-1.</p>
<p>However, Atletico responded with a goal from Antoine Griezmann, who became Atletico Madrid’s all time goal scorer in the match.</p>

<p>In the second half, a mistake from Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga allowed Atletico to take the lead at 3-2 on the 78th minute.</p>
<p>However, Real Madrid staged a late comeback, just seven minutes later through Carvajal’s strike.</p>
<p>Entering extra time, an own goal from Stefan Savic, extended the Los Blancos lead in the 116<sup>th</sup> minute, before Brahim Díaz ended the party in the added time, handing Madrid the a place in the Super Cup final.</p>
