Real Madrid staged a dramatic comeback in the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, securing a 5-3 victory and a spot in the finals.

The Spanish giants were trailing 3-2 with minutes to spare before full time, then came the screamer from Dani Carvajal, leveling the score for extra time.

Atletico drew first drew their sword with Mario Hermoso’s opener, but Real Madrid quickly turned the table with goals from Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy, leading 2-1.

However, Atletico responded with a goal from Antoine Griezmann, who became Atletico Madrid’s all time goal scorer in the match.

In the second half, a mistake from Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga allowed Atletico to take the lead at 3-2 on the 78th minute.

However, Real Madrid staged a late comeback, just seven minutes later through Carvajal’s strike.

Entering extra time, an own goal from Stefan Savic, extended the Los Blancos lead in the 116th minute, before Brahim Díaz ended the party in the added time, handing Madrid the a place in the Super Cup final.
