This position provides tactical production scheduling (1-4 weeks) and planning support for developing internal and external sourcing plans of Nonwoven materials that the Global Nonwovens organization manages. The incumbent is responsible for machine scheduling, as well as analyzing sourcing recommendations and coordinating the execution of sourcing plans to meet customer requirements while balancing manufacturing costs and working capital. The incumbent must work collaboratively and openly with other internal production planners, mill operations, customer demand forecast analysts, product supply leaders and procurement team members. In addition, this individual is also expected to lead and/or participate in various projects which support achieving sector objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the S&OE process through the weekly demand review and a timely development of a tactical machine schedule that delivers the materials on time, in the right quantity and in a manner that is cost-effective to the company.
  • Analyze, manage and create master data and machine operating schedules that support maximizing machine and labor efficiency, and efficiently utilizing material and storage space resources while meeting customer service requirements.
  • Develop inventory management techniques through the use of advanced tools to effectively support operations while minimizing inventories and maintaining customer service requirements.
  • Use technology and tools / internal data to report on KPI’s as well as detail efficiencies and areas needing improvement through the weekly S&OE control tower process.
  • Support the S&OP process through timely and accurate monthly demand review, model development and publication of Global Nonwovens capacity plans and leading/participating in monthly S&OP communication forums
  • Generate and maintain an accurate 3 month material forecast for Global Nonwovens based on monthly generated capacity plans
  • Lead or be actively involved in the development of sourcing plans to minimize/eliminate supply shortages for customers during crisis situations; Initiate the development and maintenance of sourcing strategies to protect against high and low side demand. This includes ensuring the customer, product supply, mill operations, and material owners/Life Cycle Management are aligned.
  • Serve as the lead Nonwovens Staff Planning representative on new material commercialization teams; Manage material rollovers to minimize/eliminate write-offs; Participate in Nonwovens Logistics System Improvement efforts such that non-value added activities are eliminated and value added activities are streamlined.

In one of our production planning roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain planning & scheduling assets required, additional logistics and/or operations experience preferred.
  • Adept analytical skills to identify issues and develop solutions; Expertise in Excel is a must and the ability to work with large sets of data and complex spreadsheet models
  • Knowledge of and experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning system preferred (SAP ECC, APO PPDS, SNP, & Kinaxis Rapid Response systems)
  • Risk Management: Manage risks effectively without losing sight of the core job purpose.
  • Must have the ability to look at the supply chain from upstream to downstream with both short term and long-term planning in mind.
