<p><b>Job Introduction</b><br />
 Adexen was mandated by a leading Maritime Group to recruit an experienced Expatriate Port Captain for its operations. The position is based in Lagos.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Liaising with Captains and Crew, establishing and maintaining positive communication between vessel and office staff, promoting the safety and well-being of Seafaring personnel and property on a day to day basis.</li>
<li>Briefing Masters, Officers and crew before their assignment to vessel.</li>
<li>Providing a link between shore and ship-based management concerning safety and pollution prevention.</li>
<li>Ensuring requisitions are sent on time and review vessels Deck and Catering requisition to ensure efficient and economical inventory is maintained.</li>
<li>Ensuring vessels certification is current and on board.</li>
<li>Preparing evaluation reports for Captains and review those of the crew.</li>
<li>Ensuring that all vessel staff is given an appropriate hand-over and also receives familiarization when joining.</li>
<li>Ensuring continuous general wellness and welfare of the crew.</li>
<li>Conducting regular on board inspections</li>
<li>Conducting and reporting the results of any fire, evacuation, man-overboard and other drills as appropriate.</li>
<li>Ensuring all log books and statutory documents are completed in line with requirements.</li>
<li>Conducting internal management system audits on board fleet .</li>
<li>Assisting the investigation cause of safety and pollution prevention incidents, accidents and near misses.</li>
<li>Responsible for all vessels classification or client surveys and rectification of any recommendations or deficiencies lists within a required time frame.</li>
<li>In the event of special requirements to be present on board the vessel for offshore operations.</li>
<li>Producing a monthly activity report and show continual improvement in the fleet.</li>
<li>Inspect all Electronic Navigational equipment on board each vessel to ensure full operation</li>
<li>Ensure regular painting of housekeeping maintenance of the fleet</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Desired Skills and Experience</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Qualified Master Mariner is required</li>
<li>Significant sea experience as Master / Captain on offshore support vessels</li>
<li>Previous experience as Port Captain or similar senior role within an international company is preferred</li>
<li>Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, prioritize matters and meet deadlines</li>
<li>Willing to work autonomously and be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment</li>
<li>Previous experience in Africa / Nigeria is a plus</li>
