<p> This is an exciting new entry route to become a Police Officer aimed at individuals who already have or are in the final year of studying for an undergraduate degree in Professional Policing. Please note that this specific programme is only currently targeted at individuals who have attained/ are working towards a professional policing degree (other degrees will not be considered). Successful applicants will undergo a shortened 13-week training programme as opposed to the standard 18 week training programme delivered to probationary police officers. We do expect you to have some pre-existing educational knowledge which will be tested at an early stage to understand your level of theoretical and practical knowledge, You&#8217;ll play a crucial role on the frontline, where you will provide a professional service in an environment like no other.</p>

<li>The starting salary for a Police Officer within Inner London is £29,751 per annum. Locations within Inner London attract a regional allowance to reflect the increased cost of living. This includes: £7,224 for Inner London (£4338 London Allowance plus £2,886 London Weighting Allowance) from day 1 of training.</li>
<li>You can apply to us even if you have a live application with another police force, but it&#8217;s worth noting that you cannot transfer your existing SEARCH assessment score.</li>
<li>We now offer a blended learning programme where a proportion of the training will be home learning and delivered remotely.</li>

<p> What skills do you need to apply and why would you apply?</p>
<p> We will expect pre-existing knowledge developed from your professional policing degree. A knowledge check will be carried out and will form part of your application process. Further theoretical and practical checks will be carried out during your training with BTP. Please find attached relevant pre knowledge and legislation you will be expected to demonstrate at your stage two assessment centre.</p>
<p> As one of our Police Officers, you&#8217;ll need to love variety and to not shy away from what can sometimes be difficult situations. You&#8217;ll need to be a natural communicator who is able to build instant rapport with people from all walks of life. As an officer, you&#8217;ll need to be diplomatic in your approach and able to remain calm under pressure, and you will need to be able to make decisions quickly and effectively.</p>
<p> We know this isn&#8217;t an easy job and the hours can be unsocial but there are few other careers that are as interesting and fulfilling. There will be some situations that will test you mentally, physically and emotionally but you can be safe in the knowledge you are making a difference and you will have the support you need from us. There will be a mixture of shifts (days, nights, weekends) but no two days will ever be the same. You will be able to develop your skills and have support all the way through your policing journey with us.</p>

<li>The basic starting salary is £29,751 rising year-on-year to a maximum of £46,044 per annum after 5 years.</li>

<p> At the moment, we are looking for Police Officers within B Division: Inner London and C Division: Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds</p>
<p> Inner London Locations include: Kings Cross, Euston, Clapham Junction and Stratford amongst many others. You are unable to specify a particular Inner London location, but your posting will be considered in alignment to where you live.</p>
