Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has addressed growing speculation about a possible political alliance with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections.
His response came amid reports that he may serve as Atiku’s running mate in a one-term presidency arrangement.
Speaking during a public appearance in Kubwa, Abuja, where he donated to a school and hospital project initiated by the Anglican Church, Obi offered a measured response to journalists’ questions about the alleged alliance.
“You can make of the report what you want. But I’m in a coalition against bad governance, hunger, and poverty,” Obi said.
Though he neither confirmed nor denied the rumoured alliance, Obi’s comments come as media reports suggest that Atiku has offered him the vice-presidential slot under a power-sharing agreement for 2027.
