Job description: We’re pleased to present the opportunity to join Urenco as a Permit Office Facilitator based at our Capenhurst, Chester location. The role is permanently based on days, with direct line reporting to the Work Control Manager but with functional responsibility and direct supervision provided via the Shift Senior Operator responsible for control and supervision of work (Duty Duly Authorised Person)

The Permit Office Facilitator works as part of the Operations team responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of the Enrichment facilities at UUK. The Permit Office Facilitator ensures the efficient, compliant and consistent operation of the Permit Office and provides day to day continuity and support for the Shift Operations teams in line with their responsibilities to ensure safe control of work conditions within the Enrichment plants.

The role also provides close working interactions with the Work Control Team to facilitate work schedule adherence and to optimise maintenance delivery.

What will your day look like?

  • Establishes and maintains standards within Permit Offices and Plants / Work areas
  • Carry out efficient setting to work practice within the Permit Office.
  • Carry out and complete accurate Permit Office log keeping.
  • Ensures consistent standards and methods of working across the Urenco UK permit offices
  • Responsible for condition monitoring and assigning of Plant / work areas, such as general plant areas, laydown areas and waste areas
  • Provides continuity and communication regarding scheduled work for 5 rotating shift teams
  • Conduit for schedule facilitation and delivery between Work Control Team and Permit Office
  • Provides input to Project planning regarding SSOW and Permit Office requirements as necessary
  • Acts to resolve problems in order to facilitate the plan within the boundaries of SSOW compliance and Work Control procedures
  • Provides SME guidance and support where required to teams
  • Identifies efficiency opportunities and actively leads/ supports implementation as required

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • Process/Craft Apprenticeship or equivalent Chemical/Nuclear
  • Process Plant operating experience
  • Senior secondary vocational education ideally Grade C in Maths, English and Science.
  • Relevant NVQ level 3 or above
  • Capable of complying with stringent health, safety, environmental and security procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of SSoW standards and procedures, along with additional supporting certificates to ensure safe setting to work standards are met and maintained.
  • Knowledge of plant safety cases, environmental permits, radiological and security procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of the plant layouts, physical, chemical and radiological characteristics, particularly of UF6 and its relevant reaction products
  • Proficient in the use of site computer systems and applications as appropriate for the role (e.g. Microsoft word/excel, SAP, PACS, ema
