The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye and other prominent Christian leaders are facing criticism on social media for their silence following a recent massacre in Plateau State that left at least 54 people dead, including children.

The attack occurred in the early hours of April 13, between 12:00 am and 1:00 am, when unknown gunmen invaded Zikke village in Bassa Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses report that the assailants went on a rampage, looting homes, razing villages, and killing indiscriminately.

The gruesome incident has sparked outrage nationwide, with citizens demanding justice and accountability. Amid the national mourning, attention has turned to prominent voices who have remained silent — among them, Pastor Adeboye.

Critics on social media have accused the revered cleric of selective activism, pointing to his vocal stance during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure and questioning his perceived silence under the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

One user, @OmegaXDreams, tweeted:
“Dear @PastorEAAdeboye, you have a big platform, why are you not speaking out like you did during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration??? You have been silent since Tinubu took over. Plateau, Enugu and Benue is bleeding! Speak Up SIR!!!”

Another user, @choboiiii added:
“I remember Adeboye praying for the people of Israel. Here right in his country, Christians are being slaughtered and that fraud hasn’t said a thing, smh.”

@GayleZoie voiced similar concerns:
“Including Iren, Kumuyi, Adeboye etc all of them are cowards. Na Peter Obi or tithing, their mouth go sharp. Pastorpreneurs.”

@RealOlaudah added:
“Adeboye, Oyedapo, Ibiyomie, Adefarasin, Okotie, Oyakhilome, none has spoken out against the genocide of indigenous peoples in the middle belt and fringes of the South East. NONE OF THEM!”
