About the Opportunity

The Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach at Mills College at Northeastern located in Oakland, CA in the Spring 2024 semester. Through its research, teaching, and engagement missions, the Bouvé College collaborates across the university, the Northeastern network, and with partners around the globe. Responsibilities:

We are specifically seeking applicants to teach the 4-credit Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Drug & Medical Device Development course, which introduces the process of innovation and entrepreneurship within drug and medical device development. The course explores the perspectives of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, as well as regulatory agencies within the United States. It presents drug/device discovery, development, deployment, and life cycle as it pertains to business development and planning. The course examines the roles of individuals in innovation and entrepreneurship across the industry.

Responsibilities include: using syllabus provided to guide the course; developing assignments, assessments and course schedule to meet required learning outcomes; developing and delivering course content using the Mills College at Northeastern teaching and learning platforms and facilities; holding appropriate office hours; engaging with departmental and university part-time faculty obligations as required. The courses will be taught in person on the Mills College at Northeastern campus in Oakland, CA. Undergraduate courses are scheduled between the hours of 8:30am-6:10pm.

Qualifications:

Applicants are required to have a minimum of a Masters degree or equivalent in Health Sciences, Public Health, or related field and an understanding of the drug & medical device development process in the US. Doctoral degrees are preferred, and teaching experience is desirable.
