Victor Osimhen has praised his Galatasaray teammates following their 5-1 win over Kayserispor on Sunday night.
The win strengthened their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig table.
The Nigerian striker netted twice in the game, taking his season tally to 12 goals and five assists, as Okan Buruk’s side continued their dominant form.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Osimhen noted the importance of maintaining their unbeaten streak heading into the Christmas break.
“I congratulate our team very much. It was one of the most important matches of the season. It also allowed us to widen the points gap.”
Osimhen highlighted the challenges posed by Kayserispor’s attacking players but commended his team for rising to the occasion.
“The opponent’s players up front were dangerous. For this reason, the victory was of particular importance. I am happy to contribute with two goals.”
He added that the focus remains on sustaining the team’s momentum: “We are very happy with the victory before the break. We want to continue this momentum.”
With Galatasaray firmly in control of the title race, Osimhen’s contributions have not gone unnoticed, despite it is his first season at the club.
