A young Nigerian woman, Lorian Nikki, has shared her experience of resigning from her demanding nine-hour job in Brazil to take up a cleaning job after becoming a citizen.

In a TikTok video, Nikki explained that her former nine-hour job was extremely stressful, leaving her with little time for personal activities.

However, after gaining Brazilian citizenship, she was able to access new job opportunities that offered better work-life balance.

Nikki now works as a cleaner in São Paulo, where she cleans parks for just four hours a day. Despite the physical nature of the job, she finds it far less stressful and enjoys having more free time.

Nikki added that securing this job was made possible by her citizenship, which gave her access to government job opportunities.

“Hellow guys join me as I go to my four-hour job. I had to quit my nine-hour job to be able to secure this job. I got this job from the Prefectorial of São Paulo. So what I do in the job, I go to the park, clean the park. After four hours, I’m done. There are some main jobs in Brazil that looks very easy but you need to be able to secure the job. So what happened is I have become a Brazilian citizen so I needed to tap into the government system. I’m done with the job and I’m on my way home,” Nikki said.

“I sometimes forget I have a job because there’s so much time to move around,” she added.
