Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab for the transfer of Miguel Almiron.

The deal, which is yet to be completed, is said to be open to the player’s willingness to move to the Middle East.

Almiron, who joined Newcastle from Atlanta for £20.7 million in 2019, has struggled to find his form this season, scoring only five goals, and only 30 out of a total 195 appearances since joining.

Meanwhile, Al-Shabab, known as the White Lion, finished fourth last season in Saudi League and are open to bolster their squad with the addition of the attacking midfielder.

On the other hand, Newcastle, under the ownership of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, are mindful of complying with Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

According to UK’s Sun Sports, CEO Darren Eales have earlier emphasized the club’s willingness to consider significant offers for their players.

“It’s difficult to hypothesise but, if we’re offered £1 billion for one of those players, then no one could argue against that making sense.”

In addition to Almiron’s potential departure, there are concerns about the future of full-back Kieran Trippier, who has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
