<p class="p1">Lagos State Governor, <strong>Babajide Sanwo-Olu</strong>, has announced that his administration is prepared to implement a minimum wage of N85,000 for the state’s workers.</p>
<p class="p1">Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that this <strong>minimum wage</strong> adjustment is part of a broader strategy to enhance the economic well-being of residents and ensure that workers are fairly compensated for their contributions.</p>

<p>Sanwo-Olu gave the cheering news while appearing on an interview programme on Channels Television, on Wednesday evening.</p>
<p class="p1">He expressed his administration’s belief that a robust and motivated workforce is essential for driving growth and development in Lagos State.</p>
<p class="p1">The governor’s statement signals a proactive approach to labor relations and underscores the importance of supporting the state’s employees during challenging economic times.</p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s2">Recall that President <strong>Bola Tinubu had pegged the minimum wage for workers at N70,000</strong>.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s2"> </span><span class="s2">This comes as the Labour union leadership in the state is set for the official negotiation process of the minimum wage at a meeting slated for Monday, October 21, 2024.</span></p>
