A Nigerian mother recently went viral after sharing that she had withdrawn her kids from school due to financial difficulties.
She received ₦206,000 in donations within just seven hours after reaching out for help on social media.
On Wednesday, October 22, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her predicament, stating, “Hardest decision. Had to withdraw my boys from school till further notice.”
Her post quickly garnered attention, prompting numerous individuals to inquire about her situation.
In response, she explained, “I can’t afford to keep them in school for the time being; there’s so much medical debt and now a funeral that’ll set me back even more.”
She continued, “I wish I could explain it better, but I’m my dad’s only surviving child, and if I don’t manage this situation, it could be unfair to me in the future.”
Just hours after her initial post, a user reached out in the comments, offering assistance: “I’m so sorry, Precious. It’s hard everywhere, but can’t we raise the funds for you?”
Later, this user updated followers about the fundraising efforts, revealing that they had raised ₦206,000 to help the mother and her children.
The user concluded, “Thanks to you all, God will bless you abundantly. The fundraising is now closed. You’ll never lack. Amen.”
