Bryan Mbeumo has hinted at his preference for a move to Manchester United, despite former Brentford boss Thomas Frank’s interest since his recent appointment at Tottenham.

The 25-year-old winger is coming off a career-best campaign, netting 20 goals for Brentford in the 2024–25 season.

His standout performances have drawn serious interest from top Premier League clubs, with a reported £60 million valuation set by the West London side.

United had initially been frontrunners for Mbeumo’s signature, but Frank’s move to Spurs appeared to tilt the scales.

However, fresh reports indicate that the Cameroonian international remains more inclined to join the Red Devils than reunite with his former manager.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mbeumo acknowledged the ongoing speculation: “It’s a bit new for me I would say! I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it.”

Reflecting on his form, he added: “It’s been my best season so far in the Premier League.

“Even collectively, I think we played very good games. We were unlucky not to reach Europe, but it’s been a fantastic season.”

Mbeumo is under contract until 2026, with an optional one-year extension, giving Brentford a strong bargaining position.

Still, with interest peaking, the club may opt to sell while his value is at its highest.
