<p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>
<p><b>Position Overview:</b><br />
 With minimum supervision, the process engineer performs a variety of assignments in developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner. Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Investigates problems and recommends solutions.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities Would Include:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Active manufacturing, quality and engineering representative for assigned areas.</li>
<li>Lead in Quality issue resolution both internal to GTP manufacturing processes and in external Customer reported issues.</li>
<li>Assist and lead manufacturing personnel in process/equipment problem solving and attainment of production goals.</li>
<li>Apply Six Sigma and Lean methodologies for continual improvement of processes.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Marketing, R&;D, Manufacturing and Customers to ensure successful launch and stability of new products and processes at GTP.</li>
<li>Assure safe operating procedures and conditions are maintained.</li>
<li>Assist and participate in ISO certifications.</li>
<li>Maintain product/process specification and procedures, coordinate part number listings and maintain bills of materials and routes.</li>
<li>Maintain FPY and material efficiency metrics. Utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools to drive continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Maintain effective cost reduction programs via process/product modifications and development.</li>
<li>Provide expedient reaction to problems with root cause analysis, containment actions, corrective actions and preventative actions.</li>
<li>Collaborate with and mentor operators, technicians and other personnel to optimize processes.</li>
<li>Attain in-depth knowledge of processes, equipment and products.</li>
<li>Review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new production/processing equipment. Prepare financial reviews for justification of new equipment.</li>
<li>Preparation and tracking of powder samples for quality inspection and data tracking in SAP quality system.</li>
<li>Review and modify process specifications as required.</li>
<li>Direct and utilize technical resources such as technicians and interns/Co-ops to accomplish required tasks.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Requirements</b></p>
<p><b>Preferred Education and Experience:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Engineering degree in Material Science or Chemical Engineering required</li>
<li>Knowledge of Six Sigma/Statistics and LEAN a plus.</li>
<li>Experience with Minitab, SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, a plus.</li>
<li>Familiarity or interest in powder metallurgy, powder processing, and database creation, is a plus.</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Additional Requirements:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization, particularly Manufacturing, Planning, Marketing and R&;D.</li>
<li>Experience in manufacturing/production area a plus.</li>
<li>Occasional travel to customers.</li>
<li>Willingness and ability to perform each manufacturing job associated with the assigned department.</li>
<li>Ability to perform in a high-energy, team-oriented environment. Should demonstrate the ability to logically approach and solve problems.</li>
<li>Fluency in speaking and writing in English.</li>
