<p>Former <strong>Manchester United</strong> defender <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/paul-parker"><strong>Paul Parker</strong></a> has warned against the club bringing <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/wayne-rooney"><strong>Wayne Rooney</strong></a> back as part of <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/ruben-amorim"><strong>Ruben Amorim’s</strong></a> coaching staff.</p>
<p>Rooney, United’s all-time top scorer, is currently without a managerial role following his dismissal after a brief 25-game stint with Championship side Plymouth.</p>
<p>His previous tenure at Birmingham City, alongside NFL legend Tom Brady, also ended prematurely after just 83 days.</p>
<p>Despite his recent struggles, Rooney has expressed openness to returning to football in a coaching capacity, including working with an Under-21 team or as part of a backroom staff.</p>
<p>This has fueled speculation that he could return to Old Trafford to assist with United’s struggling attack.</p>
<p>However, Parker, speaking to GOAL in association with Instant Casino, questioned Rooney’s coaching credentials.</p>
<p>“Rooney hasn’t done great as a manager; it hasn’t worked out at all,” Parker said. “To bring him back to coach the centre-forwards isn’t really going to work.</p>
<p>“He knows Manchester United, but does he know about coaching? It’s been proven that he doesn’t know enough at this moment.”</p>
<p>Parker argued that Amorim is unlikely to take such a risk.</p>
<p>“Sir Alex Ferguson was never afraid to bring in top coaches if he thought they would improve the team.</p>
<p>“But today, if Rooney or any other high-profile name comes in, the media will jump on it. Amorim has his trusted people, and I don’t see him going down that road,” he added.</p>
