Manchester United are monitoring Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as doubts grow over both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir following another defensive collapse in the Premier League.
Head coach Ruben Amorim dropped Onana for Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle after a string of high-profile blunders.
However, he watched his replacement, Bayindir, endure a nightmare display capped by a costly error leading to Newcastle’s fourth goal.
The performance has exacerbated United’s ongoing goalkeeping concerns ahead of a critical Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon on Thursday.
Ramsdale, who is set to leave relegated Southampton at the end of the season, has emerged as a priority target.
Despite the Saints’ poor campaign, the 28-year-old has maintained a strong reputation and is viewed internally as a dependable option due to his Premier League experience and leadership qualities.
