A Nigerian man has called GTBank’s customer service to inquire about the arrest of online personality VeryDarkMan.
The man shared the conversation on his social media page, X (formerly Twitter), hours after the arrest took place in Abuja.

VeryDarkMan had reportedly visited the bank with his mother to lodge a complaint about unauthorized deductions from her account.
Although CCTV footage shows him exiting the bank moments before his arrest, GTBank continues to face backlash online, with many Nigerians accusing the bank of playing a role in his detention.
In his post, the Nigerian man shared a phone conversation with GTBank’s customer service, where he questioned why the bank had arrested VeryDarkMan.
He stated, “I didn’t call to ask for any service, I called to ask you a question. Why did your bank arrest VeryDarkMan, what did he do?”
He continued, “I’ll come to your bank and close my account. I’m not banking with you again. Someone came to your bank to make a complaint, and your bank in Abuja arrested him for no reason and beat him like a thief.”
While the customer representative failed to provide an explanation in the video, the post gained traction online, prompting many individuals to flood the comment section with their thoughts.
