A Nigerian man has taken to social media to accuse a vendor of shortchanging him after receiving a portion of 5kg rice meant for him from a charitable donation.

According to a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter), a philanthropist had purchased a bag of rice and instructed a vendor to distribute it equally among ten beneficiaries.

The man was among those selected to receive 5kg of rice.

However, it was alleged that before delivery, the man messaged the vendor requesting cash instead of rice, which the vendor declined—insisting on fulfilling the donor’s instructions.

After receiving the package, the man posted a video accusing the vendor of stealing from him, claiming the rice he got was not up to 5kg. “This is 5kg of rice? Look at what somebody is calling 5kg. She has already stolen it. Some vendors are spoiling others,” he said.

In response, the vendor fired back, calling him a thief and a liar.
