The Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield will hold as planned, after two safety meetings.
Gistreel Sports earlier reported that weather conditions had put the match in jeopardy, but report from Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the game will go ahead.
“Liverpool vs Manchester United will go ahead, confirmed.
“Decision made after two safety meetings this morning cleared the fixture to be played this afternoon,” reports the transfer expert.
There has been heavy snowfall in the Liverpool area over the past 24 hours, raising safety concerns.
Transport issues compound the situation. Train services into Liverpool Lime Street were suspended, and John Lennon Airport’s runway was also closed, making travel to and from the city challenging.
Despite this, Anfield’s pitch is reported to be in good condition and ready for play.
The game is slated for 5:30pm.
