The successful applicant has strong interpersonal skills and is a talented negotiator and mediator&comma; with the right balance of assertiveness and the ability to make quick&comma; sound legal decisions&period; The ideal lawyer for this role will be willing to work in other areas of the law and provide legal support on an as needed basis for a wide variety of other areas&comma; such as&colon; transactional work&comma; compliance and regulatory issues&comma; and new product support&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>Duties and Responsibilities&colon;<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Oversee all Canadian litigation activities related to the Company&comma; managing each case from inception through to disposition&comma; and managing external counsel as required&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Work with outside counsel for cases outside of Ontario that cannot be resolved through negotiation or mediation and must be sent for advancement through the courts&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Work closely with the Human Resources department on all aspects relating to labour and employment law in Canada&comma; including but not limited to&semi; drafting employment agreements&comma; drafting policies&comma; advising on terminations and disciplines&comma; collective bargaining agreement interpretation&comma; and reviewing and responding to labour grievances&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Overseeing the progress and managing the costs and outcomes of all outside counsel files<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Drafting and negotiating of customer and vendor contracts in relation to settlements<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>Other duties as assigned<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>Skills &amp&semi;
