The Lagos State Government has formalized an agreement with Summa Group to commence the construction of the highly anticipated Lekki-Epe International Airport.

GistReel learnt that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Saturday, marking a significant step in enhancing the state’s infrastructure and global connectivity.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in a statement shared on his X handle, emphasized that the airport aligns with his administration’s commitment to improving transportation, fostering economic growth, and attracting international investment.

He further highlighted that the Lekki-Epe International Airport would not only facilitate travel but also open up new business opportunities and enhance the quality of life for Lagos residents.

The statement read, “We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the internationally acclaimed construction company, Summa Group, to develop and construct the much-awaited Lekki-Epe International Airport.

“This groundbreaking initiative is an essential part of our vision to improve connectivity in Lagos, stimulate economic growth, and draw in global investments.

“The Lekki-Epe International Airport will facilitate travel and create new opportunities for businesses and residents throughout the state. Lagos leads, always.”

The project is expected to ease transportation challenges, boost infrastructure development, and solidify Lagos’ status as a leading economic hub in Africa.
